ARBA CH Berdia's Elizabeth River Rose,
RN,CGC,TDI-passed
(Rose)

ARBA CH Berdia's Elizabeth River Rose, RN, RA, CGC: Rose was born in Richmond, Ontario, Canada, at Berdia Kennels on November 12, 1997, to Ch.Harbourlights Bentley Chase II WCX  x Ch.Berdia's Gypsy Rose CD WC. We drove up to bring her home on January 2, 1998, squeezing in between the big ice-and-snow storms of that winter. Taking advantage of Virginia's "balmy" weather, Rose jumped into the fish pond the day we got home and swam to the side to be pulled out! She has been a water-baby ever since, with an absolute fascination for anything with the sound of running water. A favourite summer toy was the "Crazy Daisy", though the petals didn't last long.... Another big favourite is - anything with feathers! Of course, balls and bumpers are perpetual winners, too. She is the epitome of the "flying Toller", and can still jump six  feet straight up into the air, just for fun, and of course to startle the pigeons and squirrels – and the occasional passer-by….

Rose, who really enjoyed conformation showing, completed her ARBA (American Rare Breed Association) Championship with Jim handling her to a nice series of Group 1 placements. A week later, she passed her CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test, important to us as an indication of her loving and sensible nature. Having had three fine litters (a “Super Mom” in every way), she has been “retired” (spayed) and is now enjoying assorted classes and training and competing in Rally – she still loves getting the ribbons and rosettes!  Ageing gracefully, at 10 years old  she and Harriet are now competing in the “who has the fuzziest legs?” contest.
